O&C Wedding Invitation
about.
This wedding stationery suite was designed for Ottavia and Claudio, with the intention of capturing the atmosphere of a southern Italian summer celebration. The visual identity draws inspiration from Calabrian and Neapolitan heritage, representing the origins of the bride and groom, Mediterranean colors, and traditional decorative elements, reinterpreted through a refined and contemporary graphic language.
The suite includes the main invitation, RSVP card, and Save the Date. At the heart of the project is a custom illustration of the wedding venue, framed by ornamental shapes and surrounded by hand-drawn floral and symbolic elements. The color palette — powder blue, warm red, soft ivory, and botanical greens — evokes ceramic traditions and sun-washed landscapes, creating a romantic yet distinctive aesthetic.

challenge.
The design process began with an in-depth conversation with the couple to understand their story, the location, and the emotional tone they envisioned for the event. From there, I developed a visual concept rooted in place, tradition, and personal identity.
I started by defining the color palette and typographic pairing: an elegant serif for structure and readability, combined with a flowing script to add personality and warmth. I then created a custom line illustration of the venue, carefully balancing detail and softness to ensure it would translate well into print.
The decorative elements — florals, chili peppers, olives — were illustrated to echo Mediterranean iconography without feeling overly literal. Layout composition was developed using symmetrical framing and ornamental borders to reinforce a sense of ceremony and timelessness.
Once the visual system was defined, I designed each piece of the suite to feel cohesive while maintaining its own hierarchy and function.
One of the main challenges was balancing richness and restraint. The project required a strong decorative identity, but without compromising elegance or legibility. Integrating illustrated elements with typography in a way that felt curated rather than crowded demanded careful spacing, scale control, and visual hierarchy.
Another key challenge was preparing the artwork for professional print production. The suite included textured paper, saturated reds, and fine line illustrations — all elements that require precise color management and file preparation. Ensuring consistency across multiple formats (invitation, RSVP, Save the Date) while maintaining color fidelity and sharp details was essential.

result.
The final result is a cohesive and character-driven wedding stationery suite that reflects both the couple’s personality and the atmosphere of the venue. The custom illustration anchors the project visually, while the ornamental framing and Mediterranean motifs create a distinctive identity.
From a production perspective, the files were carefully prepared for print: CMYK color conversion, bleed and crop marks setup, high-resolution exports, and print-ready PDFs optimized for textured fine art paper. The final printed materials preserved the softness of the illustration, the depth of the red tones, and the clarity of the typography.
The outcome is a tactile and immersive stationery experience — a design that not only announces a wedding, but sets the tone for it.
